Pulmonary Services

This will teach the patient how to function better with daily activities. The goal of this service is to improve lung function, lessen exacerbations and repeated hospitalizations.

The in home pulmonary services include pulmonary rehabilitation and follow up care for patients who have been diagnosed with a chronic pulmonary disease. Our pulmonary rehabilitation services is a patient tailored program that will meet the needs of every patient. Pulmonary rehabilitation will teach them how to cope with the difficulties that a pulmonary disease will cause. The patient will be educated on their lung health and medications to use in the comfort of their own home.

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a program that improves the daily activities of patients that have been diagnosed with a pulmonary disease. The program consist of a tailored plan of monitored and supervised exercises that will help build stamina. Education sessions that will cover information on medication, disease process, and nutrition. Strategies for managing shortness of breath and anxiety will be implemented into the program as well. The pulmonary rehabilitation program will include:

  • Strategies for managing shortness of breath.
  • Managing symptoms of pulmonary disease.
  • Detailed medication education sessions.
  • Disease process education session.
  • Stamina building exercises.
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Nutrition

Pulmonary function tests are a series of measurements that show how well the lungs are working. The test measure lung capacity, rate of flow, gas exchange, and volume. The result of these test wil help the provider to diagnose, and to come up with treatment plan for pulmonary diseases. This diagnostic tool will be used for detecting, and clarifying the severity of the disease. These series of tests will include:

  • Spirometry test, measures the amount of air that you inhale and exhale.
  • Plethysmography test, measures the volume of gas in your lungs.
  • Diffusion capacity test, evaluates how well the alveoli (the small air sacks inside the lungs) are working
  • Six (6) minute walk test, gives accurate information about blood oxygen levels during exertion.
